Gary Livermore, Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Gary Livermore commenced his working career in 1969 in the electrical industry. In 1978, Gary started his own engineering and contracting company specialising in the construction industry and switchboard manufacture. His company employed eighty people throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory. In 1992 the business operation was sold to Siemens Ltd. and Gary was appointed to the position of Siemen’s Queensland and Northern Territory Manager.  This position carried full responsibility for the business units operations including marketing, achievement of commercial and operational objectives, financial and budget reporting to the Corporate Management Committee, human resource management and strategic management.

In 1995, Gary founded Rent Elec Pty Ltd.  The Company constructed and maintained the electrical installations at every Indy Car event until 2006 as well as being in charge of maintenance at approximately 30% of the Sydney Olympic temporary electrical services, Goodwill Games, a variety of rock concerts and all Bathurst Motor Races from 2000 to 2006. In 1995 Gary also started the management consulting business, MCP AMIS Pty Ltd.  The Company provided consulting services for operations, asset and maintenance management.  Gary developed the Strategic Asset Management Plans for Queensland Rail, Water Corp of Western Australia, Sydney Water Catchment, Glaxo Smithkline China, Wrigley China, National Rail and Malaysian Airport Holdings.  This company is now known as Source Co Asset Management Pty Ltd.

In 2003, whilst Source Co Ltd was completing a large consulting project for Glaxo Smithkline in China, Gary identified an opportunity to import electrical switchgear manufactured in China.  To capitalise on this opportunity Gary started an import/manufacture distribution business now called Source Co Electric Pty Ltd. Gary has worked in the UK, USA, New Zealand, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, China and Australia with various clients and industries in his capacity as a consultant in operational improvements. 

Gary’s personal interests include following several codes of football, surfing and yachting. Gary holds a Masters of Business Administration (Bond University Qld) and a Certificate in Electrical Technology (Ipswich Technical College). He is based in Source Co’s Head Office on the Gold Coast.

 

Tony Osborn, Director and Chief Operations Officer 

Tony commenced his career in engineering with the Australian Defence Force where he was an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Officer in the Corps of Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.  Tony had various command and logistics appointments in his 20 year service including Command of a Field Workshop Company of 150+ personnel and manager of Defence procurement programs for information systems, plant & equipment and non-combat clothing & other equipment. Tony holds a Bachelor of Professional Studies from the University of New England and includes in his post graduate studies, a Diploma in Material Acquisition Management gained whilst studying in the USA, at the US Army Logistics Management College.  He also gained a certificate in Structured Systems Management at Monash University, Melbourne.

Working in the agricultural industry for his family company, Tony developed a livestock processing facility and exported fresh meat products into Europe.  He also developed national distribution systems for fresh products and national sales systems. Joining MCP AMIS Pty Ltd in 1998, Tony provided engineering consulting to many industry sectors including mining, energy, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and manufacturing.    He has written and developed reliability software, in failure mode analysis and published senior management material including: references, books, workshops and presentations.  He has delivered papers and presentations at various conferences including the Asia Maintenance Expo, FM Asia, Maintenex, ICOMS, ACSIM and other mainstream conferences in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Tony brings demonstrable leadership to Source Co and has capitilised on his years of experience in engineering, logistics and procurement to achieve the best outcomes for Source Co and its customers when conducting business between China and Australia.  Tony is the Director of two other Australian Companies and is based in Source Co’s Australian Head Office on the Gold Coast.

 

Hui Min Zhu, Director

Hui Min Zhu graduated from the Zhejiang University in Design Engineering with a major of industrial products research and development.  He has experience in production management, business administration, international trade, manufacture of electrical applications and product quality control procedures.  Hui Min Zhu started his career as Factory Director in Honda Electric Group in charge of manufacturing management and quality control to the circuit protection section in 1995.  In 1998 he was appointed to the position of Sales Director of the International Trade Department of the Group where he successfully developed markets in South East Asia, America, Middle East and Europe. Hui Min Zhu brings to Source Co Ltd a wealth of experience in Chinese manufacturing.  Hui Min Zhu is based in Source Co’s Shanghai office, China.

 

Source Co Key Staff

Oliver Mackay, China Operations Manager

Oliver graduated from University College London in 2004 with a BSc (Hons) in Anthropology specialising in the fluidity of national identity. He worked in publishing at Oxford University Press (OUP) where he remained for 3 years.  After learning Spanish in South America, Oliver moved to China in 2007 and began studying Mandarin.  After intensive language training he established the corporate training company, Bodleian, which has since been integrated into Yu-Lun Education, based at (Shanghai) Jiao Tong University.  Oliver also imported health products from the UK and Europe into China for sales in Chinese high-street stores and helped develop strategic plans for other companies intending to break into the China market.  Oliver is based in China in Source Co’s Shanghai office. Oliver joined Source Co in November 2009 and is now the China Operations Manager.  His responsibilities include developing relationships with new customers in the UK and Europe for Source Co’s renewable energy solutions, developing Source Co Minerals trading arm and representing Source Co to their international investors. Oliver is also co-chair of the Small to Medium Enterprises (SME) committee at the Australian Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai.

 

Sandie Wilson, Group Financial Controller Commercial Manager (Australia)

Sandie Wilson is completing her Bachelor of Accounting and since 2007 has ensured that Source Co’s internal and external financial management systems are fully compliant. Sandie has 20 years of accounting and financial management experience in many diverse industries and companies.

 

Alexandra Livermore, Commercial Manager (China) / China Business Compliance and Accounts

Alexandra graduated from Queensland University with a Bachelor of Business Majoring in Valuation.  Alexandra has continued her studies in the area of Company Secretariat and Corporate Governance.  She has worked with the company in its China based offices since they opened and is fluent in Mandarin.  Alexandra’s main responsibility is corporate compliance and governance of Source Co’s China and Hong Kong based enterprises.

 

Shan Dan, Group Digital Marketing

Shan Dan has a degree in Information Systems from the Hunan College of Information, China.  Shan has 7 years experience in the development of intricate digital marketing models and techniques.  His web page development of frameworks and platforms for web marketing, 3D rendering, videos and HTML emails makes him a valuable member of the Source Co marketing team. Shan Dan sets up the digital marketing platforms and the marketing team provide the content.  Shan Dan is based in China and works in Source Co’s Shanghai office.

 

John OGrady, Group Product Sourcing Manager

John is based in Source Co’s Shanghai office where he manages the Company’s procurement operations. In 2003 he graduated from Dublin City University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Applications & Information Systems.  The following year he moved to China where he started a successful product sourcing company, Five Star Imports. Since 2004 John has built an enviable network of China supply options across a wide range of industries. Through his time in China, John has become fluent in Mandarin. He joined the Source Co team in 2009, bringing with him a wealth of valuable experience in doing business in China. His management skills are demonstrated, from sourcing, production and quality management systems through to logistics and delivery.

 

Lloyd Mao, Group Solar Products Sourcing Manager

Lloyd Mao graduated from Anhui University in 2006 with a Bachelor of International Business Trading.  Lloyd joined Source Co in 2009 as a Project Manager Assistant and has recently been appointed to Group Solar Products Sourcing Manager in Source Co’s Shanghai office.  Lloyd has 4 years experience in the solar market including solar hot water heating systems, solar PV modules, solar PV inverters and related products.  Lloyd’s attention to detail ensures that Source Co’s client’s needs are understood and exceeded whenever possible.  Lloyd is based in the Shanghai Office.

 

Ian Gordon, Group Product Manager 

After studying a Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in Mathematics, from Queensland University of Technology, Ian spent 15 years in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry, beginning with warehousing, then moved into purchasing and promotions management where he became State Promotions Manager for IGA Distribution: The leading independent Grocery wholesaler in Australia.  Ian then spent 6 years working in the Australian Marine Industry involved in the back-end of the value chain as a Regional Procurement Manager.  During this time Ian was responsible for overall product costing, freighting analysis and implementation, as well as database maintenance for over 16,000 Stock Keeping Units. In July 2010, Ian brought his vast experience to the Source Co Group, joining the team as Group Product Manager in the Gold Coast Head Office.

 

Ursula Palmer, Group Marketing Manager

Ursula graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Design with a Major of Marketing and Business Entrepreneurship. Ursula has extensive experience in marketing and sales from different industries including construction, architectural and retail. She is instrumental in Source Co’s strategic growth direction and works closely with the team to ensure this is achieved. Her ability to work laterally at both macro and micro levels is invaluable in formulating and maintaining strong marketing direction. Ursula brings great innovation, design excellence and commercial understanding to all marketing aspects of the business. Ursula is based at Source Co’s Head Office on the Gold Coast.

 

Grant Colley - International Technical Account Manager 

With a strong electrical background, Grant has participated at a senior level in a diverse range of electrical projects and contracts. His extensive knowledge and hands on approach to his work, ensures that his client’s needs are highly developed in the initial stages. His strong technical and contractual expertise has brought innovative solutions to many challenging projects. With over 30 years of experience, Grant brings to every project a thorough understanding of the electrical industry both nationally and internationally.


Martin Evans - Technical Advisor 

Martin has worked in the electrical industry for over 20 years, and has had roles in many aspects in the industry including, contracting, sales, R+D, and Manufacturing, working in  industrial, commercial, residential, and renewable energy projects, both in Australia, and overseas, and has owned  and operated companies during his career. He has travelled and worked in many countries around the world. Martins qualifications include both national diploma and higher national  in electrical and electronic engineering, which he gained at Shrewsbury college Arts of technology, as well continuing to add industry training throughout his career. He joined the sourceco  team in 2006 and brings a wealth practical experience gained thought the industry in which it serves. 


Brett Goding - Electrical and Switchboard Division Manager  

Brett joined the Source Co Electric team in 2007 where he finished his electrical apprenticeship. Now, with several years of experience in the electrical industry, Brett manages our electrical and switchboard division. Brett's rigorous approach has allowed him to confidently maintain and build our existing client base. With his expanding role in the company, he will now assist the team to increase the product range that Source Co has to offer its clients. He upholds the high standards of the quality control adopted by the company and accepts responsibility readily. Through logical and inventive solutions, Brett is a highly capable electrical manager with a strong track record for confidently delivering projects and is a valuable asset to our team.
